Maternal, Child Health & Nutrition

The health of mothers and their offspring is correlated and impacted by a number of factors. Millions of expectant mothers, new mothers, and children suffer from serious illnesses or pass away each year from avoidable or treatable causes. Many of our young people are undernourished, which hinders their capacity to reach their full potential in terms of growth, development, and learning. By bolstering institutions and influencing policies to place a greater emphasis on health and nutrition as issues related to human development, LEAF seeks to help children, teenage girls, and young women to realize their right to food and nutrition. This will enhance the nutritional status of these populations.
